Security Increased At LOC After Repeated Spotting Of Aerial Vehicles

In response to these multiple sightings, a high-security alert has been issued along the LoC, with troops instructed to be on standby to intercept any further drone activity
A heightened security alert has been issued along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri and Poonch districts following repeated sightings of aerial vehicles in the area. This marks the third instance in the past four days where such activity has been reported along the LoC.
Early on Friday morning, troops stationed in the Balnoi area of Mendhar in Poonch’s Krishna Ghati sector observed suspicious movement of two aerial vehicles along the LoC. These unmanned aerial vehicles, believed to be quadcopters, were promptly engaged with gunfire by the army personnel. The vehicles then retreated towards the Pakistani-administered side of the LoC.
A similar incident occurred later in the day when another aerial vehicle, suspected to be a quadcopter, was spotted in the Gulpur area of Poonch sector. Once again, army troops responded by firing towards the vehicle, causing it to retreat across the LoC.

These incidents follow previous sightings on Wednesday in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district and on February 12 in the Balnoi area. In both instances, army personnel fired at the aerial vehicles, prompting them to return to the Pakistani-administered side of the LoC.

In response to these multiple sightings, a high-security alert has been issued along the LoC, with troops instructed to be on standby to intercept any further drone activity. The aerial vehicles, suspected to be used for reconnaissance as well as transporting illegal goods such as weapons and narcotics, pose a security concern along the sensitive border region.
