Tarun Ramrakhiani shed light on the evolving role of AI in facility management, emphasising the need for a data-first approach
Speaking at the BW Facility Management 40 Under 40 Awards 2025, Ramrakhiani called for a shift from fragmented systems and inconsistent reporting to insight-driven operations powered by high-quality data.
“The FM sector is incredibly data-rich, yet insight-poor,” he said. “Despite having millions of data points, it often fails to provide meaningful insights that drive business operations.”
He outlined how AI can serve as a multiplier for human capabilities—enhancing efficiency, enabling predictive responses, and ensuring consistency across operations. However, he also pointed to significant roadblocks, including siloed data systems and the underutilisation of AI due to poor data quality.
“AI needs good data to provide meaningful insights,” he noted. “It’s about making informed decisions, not just relying on reports.”
The session also explored AI’s role in streamlining operations—from predictive maintenance and energy management to achieving long-term sustainability goals.
“Our vision is clear,” Ramrakhiani concluded. “To move from being a service vendor to a true performance partner through AI.”
