Orca’s success in India reflects its broader momentum across the APAC region and globally
Orca Security, a leading provider of agentless cloud security solutions, has reported remarkable growth in the Indian market. The company, known for its AI-driven and integrated approach to cloud security, announced a 100 per cent year-over-year increase in its customer base and significant expansion of its partner network in the region. Since establishing its data centre in 2023, Orca has witnessed a staggering 500 per cent increase in customers and has grown its workforce to dozens of employees across India’s major cities.
This expansion underlines Orca’s rapid growth across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and its operations in more than 20 countries worldwide.
Driving Security Transformation In India
According to Grand View Research, the Indian cloud computing market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.9 per cent from 2024 to 2030, reaching nearly USD 5 billion in revenue. Orca’s growth aligns with this trajectory, bolstered by strategic partnerships with major organisations like NTT and Noventiq India, the largest Microsoft partner in the region.
Noventiq India has integrated the Orca Cloud Security Platform into its portfolio as part of its effort to migrate over 1,000 customers to the cloud within two years. The platform forms a core component of Noventiq’s Cloud Centre of Excellence, offering robust security coverage for cloud workloads, AI models, configurations, and identities. This integration aims to help clients secure their digital assets and ensure seamless compliance with regulations.
Addressing Cloud Security Challenges
Gil Geron, CEO and co-founder of Orca Security, highlighted the growing pressures faced by organisations in India to adopt secure cloud practices while managing cyber risks and meeting stringent compliance frameworks. “Orca Security’s approach is built on a vision for making cloud security easy for everyone. We are pleased to work closely with key partners in India like Noventiq to provide the industry’s most comprehensive cloud security solution with the widest and deepest risk visibility,” Geron stated.
Orca’s platform leverages innovative technologies such as SideScanning and a Unified Data Model. These allow for frictionless, comprehensive cloud security without the need for agents and enable centralised analysis of an organisation’s entire cloud estate. This capability ensures compliance with Indian regulations, including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Cyber Security Framework and the Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Cyber Security Framework.
Transforming Business Strategies With Cloud Security
Orca’s technology has been praised for its ability to provide complete visibility and prioritised remediation of cloud security risks without disrupting production environments. Ameya Sathye, Head of Cyber Security at IIFL Group, noted, “Our cloud-native technology stack is central to our strategy, making it essential to have complete visibility and 100 per cent coverage of cloud accounts, with prioritised issue remediation – all without disrupting DevOps or the production environment.”
The partnership with Orca is equally significant for Noventiq India. Ajesh Pillai, Business Head of Cybersecurity at Noventiq India, expressed optimism about the collaboration, saying, “The Orca platform’s agentless approach brings unmatched time-to-value and meets the scalability demands of our customers. We look forward to a long, successful partnership.”
Growing Global Presence
Orca’s success in India reflects its broader momentum across the APAC region and globally. By providing a unified, innovative approach to cloud security, the company is helping organisations navigate the complexities of securing digital assets while meeting evolving compliance requirements. As the demand for robust cloud security solutions continues to grow, Orca’s strategic investments and partnerships position it as a key player in shaping the future of cloud security.
